Voting Eligibility
Your eligibility to vote in the various elections depends on your student status:
Undergraduate students are eligible to participate in the USG elections.
Graduate students are eligible to participate in GSO elections.
Some student groups – e.g. College Now – are not eligible to participate in the elections
How to Vote Instructions
Voting will take place at this link: https://vote.bcstudentgov.org
Students can vote from any device with access to the internet.
Press the "Cast Your Vote" button to proceed.
Once your eligibility* has been determined, the following screen will appear:
Press the “Continue” button to proceed to the ballot.
Select or write-in your desired candidates and press the “Submit My Votes” button when you complete your selections. Keep in mind that write-in votes are subject to a thorough review by the Elections Commissioners.
You can choose to vote later by pressing the “I Will Vote Later” button or by closing your web browser window at any time. You will be able to access the elections channel from WebCentral again as long as you return prior to the close of the election period.
After submitting your vote, you will be prompted to confirm your selections. Pressing “OK” will submit your ballot for processing and pressing “Cancel” will return to the ballot page, where you can update your selections.
Voting Guidelines
Students may each rank Valid Candidates for any USG office or position in order of preference.
Students shall each be permitted up to twenty-one (21) single transferable votes for candidates to Student Senate.
Students shall each be permitted:
One (1) vote for a Presidential ticket
Two (2) votes for candidates for two (2) USS Main Delegate positions
Two (2) votes for candidates for two (2) USS Alternate Delegate positions
Four (4) votes for candidates for four (4) Student Disciplinarian positions
Students shall be permitted to write-in a candidate for any office or position stated above. Students shall be permitted one (1) vote per write-in.
No party or group will be indicated to appear on the ballot. Candidates shall be listed in alphabetical order by their last names.
